Practice Lab 11 - Inventory
Scenario
Contoso Coffee stores their inventory in warehouses. Once a work order is ready to be delivered, inventory is transferred from a warehouse to the truck that a technician will be driving to deliver the work order.
You need to transfer the inventory from a physical warehouse to a technician’s truck.
Exercise 1 – Manage inventory
In this exercise you will add inventory to a warehouse and then transfer it to a truck.
Task 1 – Setup inventory in Warehouse

In the Dynamics 365 Field Service app, click the Inventory area in the bottom-left of the sitemap, and in the Inventory group select Warehouses.

Edit the Main warehouse.

Click Related and select Product Inventory.

Click + New Product Inventory.
-
Select the [your prefix] Remote Printer product you created in a previous lab for Product.

Select the Primary Unit for Unit.

Click Save & Close
Task 2 – Inventory adjustment

In the Dynamics 365 Field Service app, click the Inventory area in the bottom-left of the sitemap, and in the Inventory group select Adjustments.

Click + New.
-
Select Main for Warehouse.

Click Save.

Select the Products tab.
-
Click + New Inventory Adjustment Product.

Select the [your prefix] Remote Printer product you created in a previous lab for Product.

Select the Primary Unit for Unit.

Enter 10 for Quantity.

Click Save and Close.

Click Save & Close.
Task 3 – Inventory transfer

In the Dynamics 365 Field Service app, click the Inventory area in the bottom-left of the sitemap, and in the Inventory group select Transfers.

Click + New.
-
Select Main for Source Warehouse.

Select [your prefix] Truck for Destination Warehouse.

Click Save.

Click + New Inventory Adjustment Product.

Select the [your prefix] Remote Printer product you created in a previous lab for Product.

Select the Primary Unit for Unit.

Enter 3 for Quantity.

Click Save and Close.

Click Save & Close.

In the Dynamics 365 Field Service app, click the Inventory area in the bottom-left of the sitemap, and in the Inventory group select Product Inventory and review the inventory lines.
