Exercise 21: Suggest number series with Copilot

Scenario

As the fiscal year 2026 comes to an end, Contoso must prepare its Business Central environment for the upcoming year. One of the key yearend administrative tasks is updating number series for documents such as sales orders, purchase orders, and posted documents. Contoso follows a policy where number series must reflect the year.

Your task is to use Copilot’s number series suggestions to create updated yearspecific number series for the upcoming fiscal year.

Steps

Select the Search icon in the top-right corner of the page, enter No.Series and then choose the related link.

Select the Copilot icon, select the Generate option. Enter the prompt Update lines for 2027 only for existing series that contain the year in their code format. Do not create new or missing series. Select Generate.

Select Keep it.
