Practice Lab 3.3 – Orders and invoices
Scenario
As a sales analyst for the Dynamics 365 Sales implementation at Contoso Coffee, you want to ensure that salespeople will be able to leverage the product catalog enhancements throughout the entire sales lifecycle. To ensure the functionality is working correctly, you will test the process of generating orders, and invoices.
Upon successful completion of this lab, you will be able to:
- Generate an order from a quote
- Convert the order into an invoice
Exercise 1 – Orders and Invoices
Task 1 – Create Order
In this task, you will create an Order from a Quote.
- Go to your Dynamics 365 Sales Hub application.
- In the left menu, select Quotes.
- Open the Quote you created titled Interested in Airpot XL Accessories.
- Hint: Change the view to My Quotes to retrieve the quotes created.
- Select Create Order.
- Leave everything as default and click OK.
- The Order form will open. You can edit the Order information.
- Select the vertical ellipsis button at the end of the command bar. Select Word Templates and then select Order Summary.
- Open the generated Word document and review the Order. Close the Order Summary.
- At the end of the command bar, select Fulfill Order. (You may need to select the vertical ellipsis button.)
- Select Fulfill. The record will become read-only. Do not navigate away from this page.
Task 2 – Create Invoice
In this task, you will create an Invoice.
- Make sure you are still in the Order form.
- Select Create Invoice from the command bar.
- The Invoice form will open.
- Select the vertical ellipsis button at the end of the command bar. Select Word Template and then select Invoice Summary.
- Open the generated Word doc and review the Invoice. Close the Invoice Summary.
- We will assume the customer paid in full. Select Invoice Paid.
- Select OK to mark the invoice as complete.
